European Confederation of Private Security Services (CoeSS)

The European Confederation of Security Services, CoESS, is an umbrella organization for more than 30 national private security company associations. It began operations in 1989. CoESS is the sole representative of the European employers’ organization, representing the interests of all branches of the private security industry, and is officially recognized as such by the European Commission. CoESS’s primary objective is to defend the interests of its national member federations and their member companies at European and international levels, and to represent the collective interests of these federations and companies, particularly through its participation in targeted efforts to harmonize national private security laws and regulations. CoESS’s primary mission is to be the sole voice of the private security industry in Europe, particularly in its relations with EU institutions and other key stakeholders, ensuring that the industry as a whole achieves the highest possible standards.
